FAQ on editing the guidelines

Our Accessibull guidelines to inclusive restaurants are live and fully editable. This means that you can edit the guidelines to add in anything you think needs to be in the guidelines.

Why are our guidelines fully editable?

What makes something accessible and inclusive is different for every single person on this planet. While there may be plenty of overlap between people’s experiences and needs, there are also a lot of blind gaps between what we on the Accessibull volunteer team personally experience and need.

This means that if we limit the authorship of the guidelines to the Accessibull team, the guidelines will not be an accurate and comprehensive reflection of what restaurants and business owners need to do to become inclusive.

We want the Accessibull guidelines to include what YOU think is necessary to make YOUR experiences eating out more comfortable and pleasurable.

What edits can I make?

You can make any kind of edit you want, from adding links to resources that you think business owners will find useful, adding a story to explain your own personal experiences while eating out, and writing entirely new articles on new topics.

While you are able to delete content if you disagree with it, bear in mind that the deletion may not be approved if the content reflects someone else’s genuine experiences.

Who approves my edits?

Once you have made an edit to the Accessibull Guidelines, a member of the Accessibull Team will review the edit. We may make further edits to ensure the writing style of the new addition fits in with the rest of the article and is easy to read and understand.

How can I make an edit?

You can make an edit by clicking on the “Edit” button on the top right hand side of the article. This will take you to a front end editor where you can add, remove and reformat text.

If there is no “Edit” button, or you are having difficulty using the editor, you can contact the Accessibull team through the Contact Us page.

It’s been a full week and my edits have not been made live. Where did it go?

If your edits have not been made live after a week, please contact the Accessibull team through the Contact Us page. This will either remind us to check in to make the edits live, or give us an opportunity to talk through the edits with you before we make them live.

This is really interesting and I want to do more than edit the guidelines- how can I get involved?

We’d love to have you on board! Get in touch with us through the Contact Us page and we’ll have a chat to you about what you’re passionate about and all the ways you can be involved in a deeper way. We’d love to have more people on board to help us publish edits, be more active on social media and influence restaurateurs and business owners.
