Have a bit of time to spare, but not much more than that? Here are some things you can do to really boost your venue’s accessibility.

This checklist assumes that your venue has already opened and most fixtures are true to their name – fixed. However, it also assumes that you’ve already gone through the Quick Fix Checklist and exhausted all your low hanging fruit options.

• Read through the Accessibull Guidelines.
• Redesign the printed menu to make it easier to read.
• Add captions to videos and image descriptions to pictures posted on social media.
• Add information about your venue’s accessibility to the business’s website.
• Add an updated menu to the website.
• Move the tables and chairs around to make sure there is enough space to move between them.
• Replace some bar seating with standard height tables and chairs.
• Make sure that the sign pointing to the toilets is easy to see and understand.
• Take pictures of the most popular dishes so you can add them to the menu or the website.
• Invite a friend or family member with a disability to a meal at your restaurant, bar or cafe (it’s your shout) and listen to their feedback on ways you can make the experience more inclusive for them.
• Check to see if your venue is included in accessibility venue apps and make adjustments based on people’s reviews.
