Are you passionate about inclusion and tasty food? Accessibull Eats would love to have your time and talent on board. We have lots of ways for you to get involved.
Accessibull Eats is run by a small group of volunteers. We want to expand the reach and breadth of the website, but we need your help to do so.
If you’re interested in joining the volunteer team, email michelle@accessibulleats.com.au
What kind of things can you volunteer for?
- Social media – we need help running our Twitter and Facebook accounts and creating an active conversation about accessible dining.
- Strategy – our ultimate aim is to change how the hospitality industry works. Maybe you have some ideas on how Accessibull Eats could educate and influence business owners and managers.
- Marketing and PR – getting the word out about Accessibull Eats will widen its reach and make it more likely to have a positive impact.
- Writing and editing – you can write blog posts, interview your friends about their experiences with inaccessible restaurants, and edit the guidelines.
- Website administration – making changes to the website to make it more accessible and user friendly and keeping it running smoothly.
- And anything else you think would be useful!
If you’re keen on volunteering but aren’t sure if you are able to, don’t worry! We’ll work around your needs.
- Not enough time? Every little bit helps, even really quick and simple things like sharing our blog and social media posts.
- Can’t commit long term? You can still make a long term impact by adding your voice to the Accessibull guidelines.
- Not enough skill? If you’re not sure how to do something, we can show you how or help you find other ways to learn as you go.
- Don’t live in Chicago or Melbourne? We’re a global team and we have our meetings using skype and email at a time that works for everyone.
- Worried your disability might prevent you from doing something? We’re committed to accessibility, and that extends all the way to how we operate as volunteers. We’ll work with you to ensure that you can help out the way you want to.
- Worried that you don’t have enough lived experience of disability? We’re really happy that you want to learn more about disability access and would love to have you on board.
